From the lens of Carl Ryan…
I was shooting with the coastguard cliff rescue teams yesterday (Sunday) whilst they were doing a Coastguard Winch Training day with the Air Sea Rescue helicopter at Worm’s Head Rhosili. It attracted a lot of local news interest and was part of their ongoing training with the Air Sea Rescue Helicopter from Chivenor.
This rescue helicopter later took off and was deviated to a live rescue a man at 3.00pm yesterday afternoon after he had fallen 50feet near the old Aberpergwm Colliery, Glyn Neath and was injured.

EVERYTHING DOES INDEED HAVE A SILVER LINING and the up-side of all this rain is the incredible plush verdancy. I am at one with the tourists in Sion Jobbins article Gwlad! Gwlad! on the influence of landscape. Perhaps too it is this damp weather of ours which creates mellifluous Welsh voices.
Some of those voices will be on show in Lorient this year, The Year of Wales, when our country will take central position on an international stage showcasing the best of its talent and culture. Sadly, the Interceltic Festival clashes with the Eisteddfod, but it is well worth experiencing and if you have the energy you could fit both in.

More comments from the petition to prevent a further imposition investiture of a new Prince of Wales.
Many people have rejected the concept of monarchy-there is no divine right of kings. We as a people do not need to make other people look big by living on our knees looking up at a family whose claim to fame is that their ancestors were the best thieves, thugs and madmen of the upper classes of olde England.
Adrian Stone
Any attempt to install a foreign Prince of Wales should be seen as an imperialistic act, designed to lend credence to an outdated UK government. Like Tony Blair, the process of devolution should have no “reverse gear.”

No more please. Keep your silver spoons, and stiff upper lip over there. There is no coal left. I REPEAT “THERE IS NO COAL LEFT”.
